Canon ImageClass D680 - Feel Good About What You Print
The Canon ImageClass D680 printer uses Canon ImageClass D680 Toner and combines three different machines, a fax, printer and copier into one model. It utilizes Canon’s advanced print technology to produce the highest quality printouts. Canon has been the leader is copies for years and has taken that expertise into fax and printing services. The normal copying resolution is 600 x 600 dpi and the fax resolution is 420 x 600 dpi. This is some of the best resolution for faxes. It utilizes a single cartridge system in which the toner, drum and development unit are all in one cartridge.
The printing and copying speed I quite fast producing 13 copies per minute when printing on A4 paper and 1- copies per minute printing on legal paper. There is a multi purpose tray that can hold up to 100 sheets of paper and the standard input tray can hold up to 500 pages. The Canon ImageClass D680 printer works when using Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 95 and later versions. It does not work on a Mac operating system. The printer comes with an upgradeable option to have an Axis 1610 Network adapter; otherwise the machine hooks up using a parallel port or USB connection. It comes with two different warranties; a 3-year limited warranty that comes with very specific requirement and terms and a one-year on site service warranty.
The copier has some excellent functions most notably the enlargement and reduction functions thanks to the D680 Toner. The zoom function can enlarge any document using 1% increments up to a maximum of 200%. It is also possible to reduce documents up to 80%. The machine already has preset reduction and enlargement options but you can also customize your own.
The start time in the morning is quite quick at 13 seconds for a warm up before the first print job of the day. Once you have printed one job the printer only takes 1 second to warm up for all subsequent jobs. All three functions come with their own memory. The printer has 2 MB of RAM, the copier 6 MB of Ram and the fax holds up to 255 pages in its memory. The Canon ImageClass D680 printer is energy efficient and complies with all standards from Energy Star.
The fax machine has many different options and only takes 3 minutes to transmit a single page. Its memory makes it perfect for those that receive faxes from overseas or who frequently forget to load enough paper.
The ultra fine resolution mode will print faxes at a high resolution of 406 x 392 dpi. Other additional functions include activity reports, polling receptions, sub address sending, delayed transmission and memory back up to name but a few.
