Is This Going To Be The End To The iPod
The iPod was released on October 23 2001 and in its various formats has sold over 220,000,000.
The company decided that they would tackle this market as they found that the technology in the personal MP3’s were either too big and clunky or too small and useless. This is when Steve Jobs decided to get his team to design something that would work and be of use to people listening to their music on the go.
the first iPod diod not allow windows users to use it and that was sown out of spite more than anything but was later put into the mark 2 as more people would buy the product. However they optimised on this by building the 2nd generation and allowed Windows users to use the hardware on their pc. Since the early years that have been many new models such as the mini, shuffle and of course the video, not to be forgetting the touch. One of the major questions to ask is, how long can all of this success carry on for?
Well the sales have seen a dip this year for the first time since the launch of the first pod which could mean the gadget is set to fall. However there is a likelihood that this is not down to the fact that people do not want iPods anymore but down to the fact that Apple now have the iPhone on the market.
The pod sales are down but the phone sales are up but it is not to be forgotten that the phone comes with an iPod within it. Another issue is the pricing. With each new iPod comes a bigger price and half the problem could be that with the recession people are just finding it hard to come up with the money for a new gadget every year.
Insurance is important for these gadgets, which is why you should look into gadget insurance or even mobile phone insurance this could really help if something bad happens to it like of course dropping it. Sat Nav Insurance could also be something worth looking into.
