New Age Of Computers Free Of Wires
Computers have clearly come on a long way since they first became commercially available. The most obvious advances have been in reducing the size of different computer parts, sometimes by up to as much as 5000%. This has meant that computers are great deal lighter and more mobile and also means that more technology and rack and panel connectors can be fitted in without compromising on overall size.
One area that has only really been adopted quite recently is wireless technology. This has been implemented into the design of a large number of keyboards, mice and more recently Internet connections. However, most computers are still built using wires or Winchester electronics to connect the various components and this has its draw backs. To start with, wires often get in the way and limit what you can connect when making additions to the motherboard. Additionally when the falter and the something stops working, it makes it very difficult to find the problem.
This may all be about to change however with the development of wireless computer components that allow the different elements of a computer to communicate with each other without the need for cables. To put this in real terms the processor will be able to communicate will all other parts of the machine without the need for internal wires, which also means there will be less connection ports on each item and less chance of dust or dirt getting into them.It will also allow for different computer components to be in alternative locations. This comes in useful if you need mobility of your hard-drive or disc drive, or just want to connect another piece of hardware without opening the computer up.
The technology is still in testing stages but will be included in a number of computer systems by 2012 along with the new trackside communications cable technology for HD computer monitors.
